PLAYERS' ASSOCIATION |
Nepal
National and International Players' Association (NNIPA)
has chosen Deepak Bista as president of NNIPA. The
election was held on Friday, 26th Sep
2008 on the day of the NNIPA's sixth anniversary.
NNIPA has elected 20 members central committee. With
Bista all 20 members were elected unanimously.

Best of The Best Player Award |

Nepal National and International Players'
Association (NNIPA) has awarded taekwondo ace
Deepak Bista with the Best of the Best Player awards
on Thursday,25th Sep 2008. Likewise,
Cricketer Nary Thapa rewarded from the woman side.
Both the players received Rs 10,001 and Rs
5,000-worth gift vouchers from Roots Fashion. They
were felicited on the day of NNIPA's sixth
anniversary. Deepak and Nary had also won the
NSJF-LG Player of the Year awards organized by the
Nepal Sports Journalists Forum earlier this month. |

Taekwondo Ace Deepak Bista
won the NSJF LG Male Player of the Year Award-2064
for the second consecutive year. |
He
lifted trophy with cash 25 thousand. After winning
the trophy Bista says " I want to thank my father,
mother, coaches and all my fan who support me
everytime."
Organised by the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum,
Bista was voted the winner among the five nominees.
Other nominees in the category were footballers
Ramesh Budhathoki, and Jumanu Rai cricketer Paras
Khadka and archery player Prem Prasad Pun.
Bista's achievement was to qualify for the Olympic
Games (Beijing) by winning bronze medal in the Asian
Qualifiers in Vietnam. Only the second Nepali player
to earn an Olympic ticket after Sangina Baidhya.
Bista also won silver in the World Invitational
Taekwondo Tournament in Korea and bronze in Korean
Open Taekwondo Tournament. |

Bista looses Olympic
with Former World Champion |
Nepali Taekwondo
Player Deepak Bista has lost his
Preliminary round with
Irani Saei Hadi
by 7-0 on Friday (22 August 2008).
The only qualified player of Nepal in Bejing
2008, Bista competed with Former world Champion
Hadi in Below 80 kg group. Bista tried to give
good fight but couldn't succeed to score a point
in USTB Gymnasium Beijing. For the bronze
medal match, Bista
lost with Chinese player Zhu Guo by 6-2.
He played offensive game with some good kick but
points were not gained.
Bista said "Sorry" for all the
people who gave full support to him. He said, "
I am sorry, I did my best but couldn't reach my
dream goal this time. It was not my day, I was
confident enough to win over Chinese but it was
unsuccessful. As you know that there is always
win and lose in a match, this time I lost my
dream. Again, I am sorry for the Nepalese who
gave me great support."

DEEPAK BISTA RETURNS BACK
FROM THE KOREA TRAINING |

Taekwond ace Deepak Bista has completed his special
training in Korea for Beijing Olympic 2008. He
returned to Nepal on Saturday (26th July
2008).
Bista was satisfy with training and ready for his
best result. His coach Kwan Huk Jung and another
player Puspa Thapa Magar also returned with
him.
Bista will be leaving for Beijing Olympic on 4ith
August.
Match will start on 8th August. |

Taekwondo ace has increased his training speed for
the 2008 Beijing Olympic.
He has started mixed training in different high
school in Korea. He is doing training in Shinson
college and season High school in another city.
before that he was in Incheon City. Bista says that
they have better player than Incheon City to
practice for the Olympic. He also added that after
one month training he will return to Incheon city.

Nepal-Korea Sports and Culture Committee felicitated
Nepali taekwondo ace Deepak Bista in Seoul on Sunday
(20 April 2008) . Nepali Ambassador to South Korea
Kamal Prasad Koirala presented the appreciation
letter and Rs 50,000 to Bista.
Bista is doing training in Korea for the Beijing
Olympics 2008. Nepal's South Korean coach Kwon Hyouk
Joung and another Nepali taekwondo player Puspa
Thapa Magar were also felicitated on the program.

Olympic qualifier
Deepak Bista has left for Korea training to prepare
for the Beijing Olympics 2008. In a ceremony
organized by National Sports council on Wednesday
Member secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha wished him
well. He said that he has also asked for the Nepal
Government to add money for the support of his
training .Teakwondo Ace Bista will continue his
training with Korean coach Quan Hyuk Jung and
another Nepali player Puspa Thapa. International
Olympic Committee (IOC) solidarity course has
supported him financially with 24,600 US dollars for
his training. After qualifying for the Olympic he
had waited four months to re-join Korea training
because of the management problem.
Bista says “This is all what I manage myself to go
to Korea but I never mind for these things. I will
try my best to win medal in Olympic.” |
